Markham Feather & Nest is a bird sitting and boarding service based in Markham, Ontario. We are a small team, not a big company with a marketing department, and we treat the information you give us the way we would want our own handled. This page lays out what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it. If anything here is unclear, just ask us through the contact form and we will explain it in plain terms.
What We CollectThe only information we hold is what you choose to type into our contact form when you reach out about your bird. Depending on what you fill in, that can include:
We do not run accounts, we do not require a login, and we do not use any tracking that builds a profile of you. There is no clever data harvesting going on behind the scenes — what you see in the form is the whole of it.
Why We Have ItWe use your information for one purpose only: to answer your boarding or sitting inquiry and to arrange care for your bird. That means replying to your message, asking any follow-up questions about your bird, setting up a meet-and-greet, and sorting out the details of a stay. That is genuinely the end of the list.
We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not send promotional blasts, and we will not start emailing you about things you never asked about. If you contacted us once about boarding a budgie, you will hear from us about boarding that budgie — nothing else.
Where We Draw the LineWe do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party hoping to market to you. Your details are not a product, and we are not in that business.
The only time your information would ever leave our hands is if the law genuinely required it of us, which for a local bird sitting service is about as rare as it sounds. Short of that, what you tell us stays with our small team here in Markham.
How Long We Keep ItWe hold your inquiry only as long as it is useful for caring for your bird. If you become a regular client, we keep your bird's care notes on file so we are not starting from scratch every visit — the favourite perch, the trusted treat, the health flags worth remembering. If you reach out once and we never end up working together, we clear that inquiry out once it is plainly no longer needed.
We are not interested in hoarding old records. If your information no longer serves a reason to exist, it goes.
Your ChoicesIt is your information, and you stay in control of it. At any time you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or delete your details from our records entirely. Send the request through our contact form or email info@markhamfeatherandnest.ca, and we will take care of it promptly — no hoops, no hassle.
Asking us to delete your information will not cost you anything and will not be held against you. If you later want to board your bird with us again, you are always welcome to start a fresh conversation.
Keeping It SafeYour form submission reaches us over a secure, encrypted connection, and we keep access to it limited to the people on our team who actually need it to help you and your bird. We are realistic — no system anywhere is flawless — but we take sensible care with what you trust us with, and we do not leave it lying around carelessly.
UpdatesIf how we handle information ever changes, we will update this page and refresh the date at the top. The heart of it, though, is not going to drift: your details are used to care for your bird and for nothing else.
